No New Posts Dungeons

The Dungeons of Hogwarts are located beneath the castle's ground floor. It is much colder than the rest of the castle, and contains many corridors with dead ends and fake doors. In the addition the deepest parts of the Dungeon are like a labyrinth.

Some of the places in the Dungeon include: The Slytherin Dormitory, the Potions Classroom, and all sorts of caves that lead to nowhere and somewhere in some cases like the Quidditch cave. This cave is a shortcut that leads up and out of the castle to the west tower and the quidditch pitch.

No New Posts Ground Floor - 1 Viewing

The Ground Floor is the first floor one sees after entering through the Entrance Hall. It contains many essential rooms and is a center for social activities, events, and Navigation. Within the main annex is the Great Hall, the Grand Staircase, the Caretaker's Room, and the Broom Cupboard. Down the east wing is a number of empty classrooms used for clubs, and at the end is a number of Green Houses where Herbology Class is held.

Outside of the building are four different court yards in between the towers and buildings, one of which being the Fountain Courtyard and lawns.

No New Posts First Floor

The first floor contains mostly elective classrooms, such as the Muggle Studies Classroom, the Muggle Art Studies Classroom, the Music Classroom, and the History of Magic Classroom. In addition, it acts as a junction for students to reach other extending wings of the castle through the exterior stone corridors.

No New Posts Second Floor

The second floor is home of Hogwart's young dead, a young girl who frequently haunts the girl's bathroom. Because of her presence, the abandoned bathroom has become known as Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom as she is often heard weeping in one of the stalls. Since she's occupied this bathroom it has been out of order.

Also on the second floor is the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom and the professor's office. Since a defensive class is taught on this floor, Dueling Club is also hosted on the second floor. Oak doors line the stone walls of the first floor as well as large, stone gargoyles inconveniently placed throughout the corridors.

No New Posts Third Floor - 1 Viewing

The third floor of Hogwarts is characterized by its mysterious yet informative nature as well as being the home of the Hospital Wing. Showmanship of great feats and bravery is showcased in the trophy room and the armor gallery where names and dates are inscribed in gold, silver and bronze. The forbidden corridor stays out of bounds since the horrid event that happened over eighteen years past, but the wonder of the statue of the humpback witch still guides curious students down a winding path to Hogsmeade.

Down the Charms corridor is found the Charms Classroom and also the Music Classroom where charms are put to good use on instruments in practice.

No New Posts Fourth Floor

The Fourth Floor is not known for many great and mysterious things like many of the other floors. However there are a few small things that make this floor special. Those small things would be that the fourth floor has secret passages and shortcuts through the castle. There is a tapestry that hangs halfway down the corridor which, when pushed aside, reveals a narrow passageway that leads down to the second floor. Be careful though, there is a trick step which many students forget to jump over. Then there is also the stairway that leads from the fourth floor to the fifth right near the Prefects Rooms. The final interesting thing would be the passageway which once led out of the castle but has since been caved in. Students may still reach the entry way but it has been blocked from within. There are many empty classrooms but one of the most used classrooms would be the Mythology Classroom.

Now that these areas have been explained there is one more left on the fourth floor and that would be the Library. The Library is one of the most mythical places at Hogwarts. To get to the Library you go straight down the fourth floor and enter through a set of large double oak doors on the right.

No New Posts Fifth Floor

The Fifth Floor is known for few things besides the very prestigious Prefects Lounge and Bathroom. This mystical place is heard of by the student body but unless a Prefect mentions it only Prefects know the true location. When finally finding out this mystical place lies on the fifth floor it becomes mysterious. There is a statue of Boris the Bewildered who, almost, guards the Prefects Lounge and Bathroom which stands just feet away from the magical entryway. Now although this floor is home to one of Hogwarts many amazing rooms it also holds many classrooms that students arrive to on a daily basis. The Ancient Runes Classroom and Arithmancy Classroom can be found on this floor along with many empty rooms.

No New Posts Sixth Floor

The East Wing of the Sixth Floor is a large hall located on the sixth floor of Hogwarts Castle. There is a huge fireplace in the center of the room and some portraits hung on the walls. There are portraits of Damara Dodderidge, Termeritus Shanks and Eoessa Sakndenberg, among others in this corridor. There are various suits of armour which surround the room throughout the year. There are two fake walls in the room that can be opened to find secret passageways. One secret passageway leads to the seventh floor and another fake wall leads that happens to lead to a small room which has since been forgotten.

The Sixth Floor is also home to the West Wing which is a smaller corridor reserved for classrooms. One of the most popular classrooms that happens to be on this floor would be the Transfiguration Classroom. This classroom is most often used by all of the students who attend Hogwarts. Then there is one more classroom which happens to be popular with the older students of Hogwarts, the Ancient Studies Classroom, which is surrounded by portraits of landscapes.

No New Posts Seventh Floor

On the Seventh Floor is the northern wing, lined with bookshelves that lead to the portrait of the Fat Lady, which guards the secret entrance to the Gryffindor Common Room. Further down the hall is the Ravenclaw's Head office, a disused bathroom hidden by a painting, the Divination Professor's office, and less widely known--the Room of Requirement.
