When the sever left the two of them alone again, the vampire found that he was fully in control over himself again, something that he was more than grateful for considering the circumstances of the situation. While he loved Jamie more than he would ever be capable of loving anyone else and while he wanted to take Jamie more than he could ever remember wanting another thing, he did not want to ruin whatever plans it was that Jamie had made. Besides, Jamie deserved better than to have his first time be with some hormone crazed vampire who wouldn't be able to control himself properly. No he deserved something more, something that was just as sweet and as special as he was to the vampire and he would be damned [even more so than he probably already was] if Jamie did not get exactly what he deserved.

He was drawn out of his thoughts by none other than the very center of his thoughts as he suggested that the two of them make a toast. As he spoke of new beginnings and of a love that would hopefully never fade, his eyes caught Jamie's just in time to catch the wink that Jamie had sent his way, causing his lips to tilt upward again as he lifted his own glass of wine and moved to gently move it against Jamie's, causing the soft sound of crystal meeting crystal to fill the air. He noticed the very slight tremble that ran through the other's body at the sound and while he was curious, he chose to stay quiet. If Jamie wanted to tell him what was going on, than he would do so.

A few moments later, he got his answer in form of an apology. It seemed as though Jamie wanted to ensure that the vampire would stay by his side and his mind was running wild with ways in order to make sure that he would. He also told him that he was surprised that the vampire had actually returned his affections, which was something that in turn surprised the vampire. " Vhy vould I not return your affections Jamie? You are as sweet and as kind as people come. You are very smart and you understand both my mind and my heart. You are absolutely stunning in every possible vay to me and you have saved my life. Never doubt that I love you Jamie, for you are the only person that I vill ever vant for the rest of this life and the next. My cold heart beats only for you and these eyes see only you. That is how it vill stay for however long it is that you vill have me by your side. If you vish for me to be vith you, all you must do is ask me and I vill be more than happy to stay for as long as you vant until you tire of me and order me out of your life." He would be there even after that too. The vampire knew deep down inside of him that Jamie was the one that was meant to be his. He knew it and he found himself not wanting to ever let the mortal leave his side. It was the darker side if his love for Jamie, the obsession with the mortal that was starting to form within his heart but as he stared at Jamie he found that he couldn't care less.

Hopefully Jamie would understand the darker aspects of his love as well.

The vampire gently placed the cloth napkin that he had been provided with on his lap before allowing himself to partake in the meal. It was the perfect size, the perfect amount of food for someone that did not partake in the meals of mortals all too often and on top of that, he found that the flavors present in the food were neither too light nor were they overbearing. All in all, the meal was well prepared and was perfect.

When Jamie brought up the weather, the vampire listened calmly to what it was that he had to say before giving his own input. " I do find these summer months to be particularly unbearable. I am unused to the heat and the harshness of the sunlight. Even inside of my home vhich I am sure to make sure is cooler than outside, it is hard for me to get comfortable. The nights are more bearable, I agree but I find myself missing the cool nights of the east more and more. On the bright side, I am not required to do my morning and afternoon patrols anymore. The ministry is scared that vith my condition, I might get seriously injured and they vill lose an auror."

That was the only good thing about the summer so far. Hopefully things would get better as the heat died down a little bit more.

Everything the vampire said made it difficult to keep from rising to kiss him at that moment. Dear Merlin, he felt more love for that man than he had for any other in his life. But, the thought of a hot summer causing harm to him was enough to make the color slip from his features. In that moment, he reached across the table and took both of the vampire's hands within his and held them gently. "If it comes to a point zhat you are feelink veak, I vill help you. I vill do eferysink in my power to ensure zhat no harm comes to you."

Granted, he didn't know much about the healing magic that worked on vampires, but damn if he wouldn't look into it. Aside from being able to help the person he cared about the most, it wouldn't hurt to learn, would it? In the moment that hung there he kissed both sets of knuckles as green eyes remained locked upon those stunning blue ones across the table. Good Merlin, he was really in deep.

With a reluctance he'd never shown before, he released his hands to allow his companion to eat before turning back to his own food. The way he ate was almost delicate, one of his more feminine traits. His hands held the silverware with a delicate wrist and he took very small bites. The food was delicious, the flavors melded perfectly, the degree if doneness was spot on and he had to admit that he enjoyed it far more than he thought he would. Despite that, he kept watching Alek through the tops of his eyes.

It truly was a surprising thing to see that someone could truly care for him despite knowing what he was. It was amazing that someone as wonderful as his Jamie would even consider someone like him to be a possible mate for himself. It was something that made him beyond happy, something that made him feel almost as though he was in some sort of incredible fantasy that his mind had made up to help him escape from his lonely existence in order to make his life a bit more bearable. Yet as he gazed into those beautiful green eyes and felt the gentle caress of his skin, he found a bit of comfort in the realization that his infatuation had to be real.

His mind was not creative enough to make up someone as amazing, someone as delicately beautiful as he saw the mortal to be. Jamie was very much like a snowflake in the way that he was both stunningly beautiful and delicate and yet there was something about him that made him different, something that made Jamie so unlike anyone [both mortal and not] that he had ever met before and he simply loved that about the mortal. Jamie was so fascinating and so interesting as a person that the vampire felt as though he could truly be happy spending the rest of eternity loving only Jamie, a thought that scared him slightly.

He knew that because Jamie was in fact a mortal, he would have to one day turn him into a vampire if he wanted to have him as a companion and as a lover for as long as he would live. He knew that he would one day have to put an end to Jamie's mortality and turn him into a creature of the night for nature had not blessed Jamie with the gift of time as it had him. Yet, he was so scared to even think about any possible future that the two of them may or may not have together. There was always the chance that Jamie would not want to become a vampire. There was the chance that Jamie would fall out of love with him and then there was always the chance that Jamie would tire of him and simply leave him one day in order to take a new lover. There was also the chance that he would do to him what Hizaki had tried to do.

There were so many things that could potentially go wrong for him and that was enough to make the idea of turning the mortal terrifying for him. Jamie could very easily build him up and yet he could just as easily destroy the vampire. Aleksandr loved Jamie so dearly and deeply that it made his sense of judgement fade away almost completely.

He was snapped out if his thoughts when the German took his hands into his own and held them gently in his grasp. Icy blue met the worried green gaze of his younger lover and he listened to him as he spoke, his heart softening and his fears disappearing as he listened to the other's words. Jamie was worried about him and how the heat and the harsh sunlight of the summer was affecting him.

He was worried about his safety and well-being. His gaze softened as he stared at him quietly for a moment, before his lips tilted upward in a gentle smile. " I am sorry if I have vorried you Jamie. I promise that I vill be careful so that nothing vill go vrong. If I ever do start feeling off, however, I promise that you vill be the very first person that I come to for help. There is no one else I vould rather have vith me." Nor was there anyone on the planet that he would entrust his life to.

When a kiss was placed on the both of his knuckles, his gentle smile grew at the caring gesture. He could feel his heart swell with joy and he swore that he felt the love he held for the younger man grow. When his hands were reluctantly released by his lover, it took all of his willpower to stop himself from reaching across to capture his hands in his own grasp, not wanting their physical contact to end. His eyes lowered to his plate and he began to consume the food that was placed in front of him. He was the very picture of elegance and grace, seeming to radiate elegance with every fluid movement that he made. Another smile crossed his lips as he felt that familiar gaze on him and again his eyes lifted to meet that gaze.

Merlin, that cute look on his face and those delicate little movements that he made were almost too cute.
