It's time for a refill

Thomas seemed to turn three different shades of red when Trever spilled his ink bottle all over the plase. Thomas never felt so embearresed before in his entire life and with everyone in the class watching him and laughing at the spill he felt like he could just crawl under the table and hide. As the Professor cleaned up Thomas's mess he said something about ink getting into the cauldron and making a disaster out of their potion. *Great thats just what I needed* Thomas thought to himself as he watched Professor Takumi clean up the ink.

"Thank you Professor. I'll try not to get ink in the cauldron." He said as the Professor finished cleaning by putting the ink back into the bottle. So distreacted by what had just happened and embaressed from it Thomas almost missed the question the Professor had just asked. Thomas's hand rose into the air he knew the answer to it but it wasn't fast enough cause Tanaka was called first. With as shy as he was feeling Thomas tilted over to Tanaka. "Good answer I was just about to say that." He whispered to her as a small smile spread across his face. Thomas really did know that answer Aconite or wolfsbane was one of the key ingrediants in the potion Thomas had to take plus he had read it somewhere in his potions book.

The answer Tanaka gave also reminded Thomas that he needed to ask the Professor about getting himself some more potion cause the letter he had gotten earlier from his parents told him that he wasn't going to get a new supply at least not for a while. Before the Professor spoke again Thomas scratched a little note on his parchment *ask the Professor* then put his quill down.

From Advanced Herbology, the blonde made a detour past where Artemis' Care of Magical Creatures class was letting out to see him and reaffirm their plans for a study date after dinner this evening. She was excited about the plan they made, even if they would be mostly reading and preparing for exams before Christmas. Even just a few moments together was better than nothing.

She told him that she needed to go to Professor Satoshi's room for a consult, as well as duelling lessons that she had asked him about on the fly. He agreed to meet her at the stairwell coming from the dungeons later, as he needed to get books from the library. They walked together through the grounds, fingers entwined, until they reached the castle. Where, after one tender kiss, they parted ways.

Bella moved down the stairwell without a sound aside from the click of her heels on the stone. Finally, she reached the room and knocked twice before opening the door and peering in. Her green eyes took on a note of softness as she gazed through the room, red painted lips turning upward into a smile. "Good evening, Professor. You wished to see me?"

As she entered the room, she found the eyes following her and she smiled softly. There was a soft little murmur of her name and she looked up to see two small girls from her house practically bouncing in their seats as they waved to her enthusiasticly. She waved happily, settling her books on the narrow cinch of her small waist.

"Well, hello Gwendolyn, Ariel. Oh, and I see Andrew...Mathew...oh, and Seth. Goodness, Professor. You have a wonderful group from my house in here." She winked to the Puffs and pursed her lips softly, flawless face alight with warmth as she straightened the yellow striped tie over her bosom. "I can wait, sir, no rush."

With the next knock, Takumi found himself stopping yet again and casting an almost irritated glance at the door. "Merlin's beard! We're not getting far today with these happenings." However, as the door opened, he caught himself smiling. "Miss Walsh, yes, I did send for you, you are quite correct. On that note, class is dismissed for the day. However!" He practically shouted that last word to be heard over the noise of students preparing to flee from the dungeons, "I would like you each to write me a small essay on what potions you can make with asphodel. Don't be afraid to use the library! If you're unsure of where it is, Miss Walsh will happily tell you how to get there."

He moved through the class, pleased to see some of the younger students actually stopping to ask where the library was as he made a motion for Thomas to come into his office. "Mister Doal, if you would like to wait for your friend, he will not be long. You're welcome to stay in the room and look about. You are safe here."

The tempered glass door opened and he walked into his office. The room was spacious, meticulously organized, and decorated minimally in a very far Eastern style that he found comforting. A low cherry table sat just above the floor and four very thick pillows sat on the four corners of the table. The walls were of a shoji screen and filtered a warm light into the room, illuminating portraits on the wall. Upon the walls were several family photos that flickered with life within their frame. The first was of his nephew, Aito, with his fiancee Xayden. Both wizards within the photo were beaming with smiles, nestling contentedly within the hold of a hammock that was held up between the cherry trees in the orchard at the estate.Both boys looked so content in the shot that Takumi simply had to hang it to remind himself that joy was still within the world.

The next picture was of himself and his twin. Mirror images side by side, one in a cloak of crimson and the other in one of green. Both males remained with emotionless faces, mimicking the other perfectly, they seemed cautious of people that walked into the office, more so the one in red than the other.

The third was of that man in red, Ren, although he was much younger. And he was holding onto a tiny child beneath the cherry trees of the estate again. Within the picture, he was smiling, a gesture that became the slightly more effeminate nature of his older twin, as he dangled a blossom onto the cheek of the child and both were giggling. Oh, how he loved that picture.

The fourth was of the entire family when Ren and Takumi were both of school age. Their young parents were warmly holding to their three children. Ren and Takumi both looked mildly pained, but Sayuri, their little sister, was a vision of joy and her smile made the picture. Takumi wore his Hogwarts uniform with a brazen badge with the words Head Boy on it. Also, about his neck was a medal that read Dueling Champion. However, he seemed plagued by the ache of something inside. Ren wore the black Asian style robes of his own school, thick, artfully applied black eyeliner, and a badge from his student council. Something in Ren's eyes simply radiated pain and a deeper reaching sorrow than anyone could ever know. However, Sayuri wore white robes, similar in style to Ren's and she held a placard that read "Ministry Recognition of Excellence." Their parents had wanted to showcase their achievements.

The last photograph was one that almost hurt him to see. It was an old newspaper clipping from after the Wizarding War at Hogwarts. The headlines spoke of the brave students defeating dark forces, but the image was of Takumi at 17, holding onto the lifeless body of a pale blonde. He was crying, stroking the ends of her hair softly in the sort of manner that would suggest that she may have been his lover. Every time he walked into his office, he was reminded of warmth, love, joy...and death.

He had ushered Thomas into his office, before he said, "I will be right back, excuse me. I need to ensure that Aito comes to pick up Tanaka. Feel free to sit, look around, whichever you wish."

As there was another knock on the door Thomas looked up from his book to see who it was. As the person came into the room a small smile spread across Thomas's face he remembered seeing her in the great hall a few times and once sitting with Aito. There were so many distractions today Thomas wondered if Professor Takumi was going to start to pull his hair out. Class was very much over by this time which was confurmed by the Professor saying that they were all dismissed but everyone had to write a small essay on what potions you can make with asphodel. Thomas rolled up the peice of parchment he was writing on and stuck it in his bag along with his book and ink bottle.

Thomas then heard the Professor tell Trever that he could wait for Thomas in the room while he has a word with him. "Thank you Professor I'll wait here and study my text book. Hey Tom you can leave your stuff here I'll watch them." Trever said as he pulled his potions book back out of his bag and started thumbing through it. Thomas noded and put his bag on the table beside Trever then turned to follow the Professor into his office. "Wow Professor this is a nice looking office. Who is that in the picture over there?" Thomas asked pointing to the picture that appeard to be a family portret hanging on the wall as he walked in and looked around.

Thomas was very curious as to what the Professor wanted to talk to him about he figured it had something to do with his condition but he wasn't that sure. For some reason Thomas felt a little uneasy but that could be just from the fact that he didn't have any more wolfsbane potion. Thomas's skin was starting to feel tight again and he fought the urge to scratch himself.

After pointing the children in the proper direction, Bella entered the office behind Thomas just in time to hear him speak aloud and smiled softly before speaking up, "That, would be the Satoshi family after the twins finished their wizarding schooling. The two older people are the Professor's mother and father. The boy in the Hogwarts uniform, is the Professor. The boy that looks just like him in the Asian robes, is the Professor's twin brother, Ren. Tanaka's father. The little girl in front of them in the white robes is the Professor's sister, Sayuri. That is Aito's mother. Aito's father was from a Korean wizarding family, but died in his line of work when Aito was very young, his father now is part of the British Ministry of Magic." She smiled, moving to the next photo. "Tanaka's parents were lost to a dragon attack when she was very young and Ren saved her. I don't know the details about that one, however. The child in this picture is her, Ren looks so happy in this picture compared to all the rest."

As she neared the picture of Aito and Xayden, she giggled softly. "It's amazing to think that these two are so happy together. I'm happy for them. The beginning of last year, I was getting worried about Aito, really. When we were fourth years, his first love accidentally drowned in the lake at school. He was such a mess ever since. He does sleepwalk, and has night terrors, so if you ever catch him walking around, or running...screaming...anything out of the ordinary in the middle of the night. I would urge you to tell the Professor."

She obviously had been in here a lot to know so much. When she looked at the newspaper clipping, she found herself frowning softly. "The Professor has trouble talking about this to this day. It was after the Second Wizarding War, and he fought for the school. But, he...lost the person he cared about most because of a small error. I think he still beats himself up over it. The boy in the picture is him. That awful Rita Skeeter just had to take a picture of him in a moment of mourning. Evil woman."

Red lips pursed before she set her books upon the cherry desk and perched upon her knees on one of the cushions. "If you're wondering why I'm here, my dear, it is because I helped the last werewolf through the school year. You have a slight advantage over Andrei, however. He was 17 when he was attacked, so he had to be extremely careful. Fluctuation of hormones could just as easily cause a change. He had a hard time keeping himself in check. You, however, were very young in your attack. You have had time to adjust. I also am growing the plants you will need for the potions through the year. I make fairly big batches so that you do not have to worry about running out."

She smiled warmly at the child. Oh, he was absolutely a precious little thing.

Time waited for no man, but Aito seemed to be made of it. It took him a lot longer than he anticipated for his nephew to return from the Hospital wing to get his cousin. "Sakes alive, Aito! I have people in my office!" "I'm sorry! Jamie got off topic and I didn't have the heart to gear him back!" Takumi laughed, he'd had the pleasure of meeting the young Durmstrang grad, "Sometimes it's not difficult to get him that way. Just be sure you take Tanaka to the dining hall so she can eat. She's probably scared to death and hungry."

He gave his niece a kiss on her forehead and before he turned to leave, she was tugging on his arm again to give him a strand of glass beads fashioned into a bracelet for him, her big black eyes were pleading him to take it, and he smiled warmly before thanking her and sent her off with Aito who carried her piggyback through the hallway.

Finally, he came back into the office with a sigh of relief, closing the door behind him. "I am so sorry about that. Anyway, I wanted you to stay here a moment, so that I could tell you that we are working on getting things ready to begin your potions for your condition." He moved around the desk and chose the cushion in front of Bella and knelt down before folding his palms together. "We have gotten into a pretty good schedule on brewing wolfsbane potions and keeping it up shouldn't be a problem. How many phials do you have as of today?"

Thomas's eye grew wide as Bella told him about the picture and who was in them. They all looked so happy in the pictures and it brought a smile to his face to see that. Bella then went on about Aito and Xayden letting him know that Aito sleep walks and that if he saw Aito actting out of the ordinary at night he should find the Professor. "Ok I will. I wouldn't want him to hurt himself." He said as he looked at the picture. She went on to the next picture to say that it had been Ren who had saved Tanaka from a dragon that had taken her parents. Thomas was going to have to remember to be extra nice to Tanaka and as he thought about her Thomas started to feel kinda funny but he just shrugged it off and continued to listen to Bella. She then moved to the newspaper clipping and Thomas's heart sunk as she recalled what had happened.


Thomas felt sorry for the Professor losing someone you care about that way and it didn't help that this Rita Skeeter lady she talked about had to take that photo and use it. She then put her stuff down on the table and kneeled down on a cushion and letting him know why she had come down here. Thomas was slighty shocked to find out that the former werewolf at Hogworts had been infected at 17 and that somehow Thomas had a slight advantage with being turned at such a young age. "I wouldn't say that it still suprizes me sometimes. Thats good to know now I will have someone to thank for my potion. I mean apart from the Professor of course but still it's nice to know where it's coming from. At that moment the Professor walked back into the room closing the door behind him and saying that he was sorry for the delay and sitting down next to Bella.

Turning on the spot Thomas found a cushion for himself and sat down as Professor Takumi continued to talk explaining what was going on. He then asked Thomas a question wanting to know how much potion he had left. Thomas raised a hand to rub the back of his neck as he answered. "Well the thing is Professor I just took the last of my potion before I came to class today cause I was expection a new batch in the mail but it didn't come. I hope thats not a problem Professor I can go a couple days without it but I'll get a little cranky." His skin was starting to feel tight again it was the most uncomfortable feel ever and it made him fidget a little in his seat.

"I was afraid of that." Takumi's brow furrowed in thought slightly before he straightened up and asked, "Bella, do we still have some of Andrei's potions in the stockroom? I don't believe he took them all with him when he graduated." Even if he did, surely, he would help out someone who needed it. "If he did, is there a possibility that he is skulking about somewhere nearby enough that someone could reach him without entering the Forbidden Forest? I know he tends to hunt in there."

His fingers tapped absently against his bottom lip as Bella rose from her cushion to inspect the contents of the stockroom. He was lost in thought, gazing absently at the photograph of Ren and Tanaka. "Hm. If all else fails, my brother has some of the...well...oddest connections in the wizarding world. He is likely to find the most obscure things very easily and can haggle like you wouldn't believe."

He leaned forward onto the desk in front of him and heaved a quiet sigh, fingers tangling in the neatly laying black hair atop his head. "And I need to figure out a way of improving Tanaka's English. I wish I could fine Alleyne so I could ask her how she taught Aito. He was doing very well, very quickly. No matter, she's a smart girl, maybe she will pick it up from Aito." At this point, he seemed to be rambling as he pulled out a black book with time slots. He was studying it intently, viewing the names on the paper. Bella Walsh: 7:00-8:30 (Auror Potions) Patrick Genesis: 9:00-10:30. (Restoratives/Anti Curse) Trenton Ciobanu: 11:00-12:30. (In depth Amortentia) Onyx Holland: 2:00-3:30. (Poisons/Stealth Elixir) Potions Year 3: 4:00-7:30. Bella Walsh: 8:00-9:30 (Dueling Instruct). "If we don't have any, Bella, I can go to the village between Trenton's and Onyx's private lessons in the afternoon. The first years don't have potions tomorrow. They have me every other day. I have third years tomorrow, and your dueling instruct right after." He seemed to be a very organized individual, and had all of his days strictly outlined. Bella's Auror potion lesson was obscenely early, but that was due to the fact that Bella was one to practically live in the library with Artemis. How she even had time for a relationship was beyond him, then again, the two were nearly always together. It never failed to impress him how the students managed to balance their lives.

Bella was standing on the step ladder in the stockroom, digging through bottles and phials, her memory storing them in photographic columns. Professor Satoshi was rambling on about things as she pulled out a drawer and scanned over the bottles. These looked right. She un-topped one and took a careful smell by wafting the fumes toward her nose before coughing softly. The pungent odor of wolfsbane overpowering her senses. "I found it, professor. We have about a half a dozen of Andrei's potions left. They have no shelf life, so they should be in perfect condition."

As she tried to step down on the ladder, she missed her footing and gripped the shelf tightly, jarring a potion off the edge and the glass shattered loudly as the liquid pooled on the ground. "Sorry! This ladder..." That smell...it caught her off guard. It smelled like Artemis. "That shatter was one of your Amortentia bottles." Her insides fluttered softly and her fingers relaxed completely and she toppled with a thud and a soft cry of surprise as she hit the floor. "More powerful than normal, sir, did Trenton make this one? He's done a...masterful job."

Even the tone of her voice seemed full of a romantic wistfulness that normally only occurred in privacy with her dear Artemis, she struggled up to her feet and quickly used her wand to clean up the mess as she came out of the closet with one of Andrei's bottles stuck inside her pocket. Her face appeared dazed and she shook her head quickly, trying to focus her eyes without a dreamy expression. Even the smell of Ciobanu's love potion was potent enough to feel the effects. That was impressive...

Artemis...

"Good...Merlin. He's gotten good at those. I'm sorry for breaking it...if you caught the smell of it, you'll feel it a minute or two."

She moved into the office and shut the stockroom door behind her before sitting back on her cushion, gazing absently at the table. The warmth of the wood was so similar to his eyes..."Professor? Do you have the antidote? I think I got a bit too close to the initial spill. I cannot focus at all."
