Perhaps he was right in saying that her brother cared for her happiness more than she had initially thought and yet there was something inside of her, something that said that she did not need happiness. Happiness was not something that lasted for her, only leading to pain and heartache in the long run. She had had her taste of happiness and that had once been enough to make her content as she waited patiently for death to come and claim her so she could be reunited with the one who had given her that happiness for that short period of time. Now, she was starting to feel different, as though she wanted more out of her life than for death to come and claim her. As Loukas spoke of it being obvious that Artemis wanted her to be happy as well, she fell quiet for a moment, clearly contemplating just what it was that had been said before speaking to him again. " Perhaps you are right. Your words do sound like something that my brother would say." Artemis had always been such an unselfish boy in that sort of way. Perhaps it was time for her to move on and try and start her life over again. She would not forget about Kaoru, he meant far too much for her to forget about him, at least right now, but he would no longer be the one thing that constantly plagued her mind. It was better for her that way.

When Loukas asked her about what her favorite subjects were along with the ones that challenged her the most, the answer came to her mind almost immediately. " My favorite subjects vary but I am most skilled in Defensive magic, Charms and dueling. We had a dueling club at the school the previous year that was taught by a centaur and I learned wandless and wordless magic from him. As for the subjects that I am challenged by, I do not like Divination, Astronomy and Transfiguration, though the later is for personal reasons." Merlin she hoped that someone had killed that damn vampire by now. He was more troublesome than any other person she had ever met, past and present. When Loukas apologized for asking so many questions about her, she shook her head. " Do not apologize, it's not as though you are asking me foolish questions. I do not mind answering some of these ones while I am able to do so." It was not very often that she was able to have a normal conversation with a person and she actually found herself enjoying the conversation more than she had originally thought she would. Though, she was at a loss when she heard his next words, something she seriously had not been expecting to hear. 

He found her to be fascinating?

That was something she had honestly never heard before, not even from Kaoru and as such she could feel the slightest hints of a blush beginning to form on her cheeks, something that made her eyes widen slightly before she turned her head, pretending to look out at the snow when in reality she was trying to hide the coloration in her cheeks. He had made her blush of all things, what was wrong with her?! Was she catching a fever? Yes, that had to be it. There was no way he had made her blush. No way. After taking a short pause to recollect herself, she spoke again. " Thank you but I truly am nothing special. There are many people who share my passions, my talents and my views in this world. I was lucky that I did not turn out the same way that these other spoiled pureblood children do and grateful for that alone." The thought that she could have been like one of those annoying brats was truly a very terrifying thing indeed!

They appeared to like similar classes, that was somewhat good news, wasn't it? Shared interests were always good for building conversations. He was a little curious about why she didn't like Transfiguration much, though her implying personal reasons, he had to assume it had to do with someone that was close to that situation. He would not pry. From his place on his broom, he glanced over and saw her looking down at the snow and the left half of his mouth curled upwards into a smile. "I would have to say that I am the lucky one in that respect. If you had, I never would have had the chance to talk to you like this. If either of us were better for knowing the other, I would have to say that I am the better for getting to know you. You remind me that there are decent people in the world."

He brought his broom upward, then twisted to hang upside down from the stick. "Besides being fascinating, I can be myself around you and I don't have to worry about what I do, or say, or annoying you with my questions." Quickly, he righted himself, and smiled over at her before he really thought on what she said. "It just sank in that you said that your Dueling Club was headed by a Centaur. That's...really interesting. I've never seen one firsthand! I know they are magical and are capable of magic, but I wonder how. You must have learned some fascinating spells."

Strange how simple things would just fascinate him. "With a love of defensive magic, would I be far off by guessing you would like to be an Auror? Athene wants to be one too, and I honestly think that it's a great choice. The ministry would benefit greatly from having your skill on their side. Perhaps one day, you might be up to a little friendly fire duel?" Oh, no, that little competitive fire in him was building and he could scarcely shut himself up before he continued, "Or a race? Say...first one to circle the property?"

He looked at her, mischief etching into his blue eye and a smile slipping over his lips. Loukas loved friendly competition, it made for an activity both could enjoy.

" I am willing to say that we help each other out equally since you have successfully managged to remind me that there are actually some intelligent people that are left in the world, so perhaps we aren't completely hopeless after all." She spoke calmly, amused that a person would actually not only say that he was better off from having known her but to actually say such a thing to her face as well. Loukas Souris was definately a very interesting sort of person, perhaps she would keep in touch with him after this particular visit was over. As she mentioned not liking her Transfiguration class, she did not miss the curious look that had spread across her face and while it was obvious that he wanted to know why she didn't like that class, she was not yet ready to share such a thing with him yet. No, that was definately a story better saved for a different time, for if she brought up that man now all it would succeed in doing would be to bring down her surprisingly good mood and she did not want to give that damn vampire the sastifaction, whereever the hell he currently was in the world because while she would have liked nothing more than to hear that a hunter had gotten rid of him, she knew that that man, that creature was cunning and sly enough to escape from them without too many problems arising for him. 

Damn him.

Her curses toward the vampire were momentarily forgotten when Loukas brought his broom upwards before twisting to hang upside down from it and speaking her again, causing her to roll her eyes slightly. " You truly must not know many people if you think me of all people to be fascinating Loukas. Nevertheless, I thank you and am glad that you do not feel the need to act as something you are not around me. It is nice to get to see the true side of a person for once, rather than seeing only the side of a person that they want me to see." Truth be told if he had tried to act like something that he wasn't, she would have called him out immediately on it. She did not like fake people in any sort of way nor did she enjoy the acts that they seemed to put on, seeing right through them almost immediately. She had a particular talent for doing such things and it was often said by people who knew her that she could not be fooled, something that she tended to agree with, not out of any sort of arrogance on her part but rather out of fact. She had seen through Matthias within the first five minutes of a conversation held between them their third year. Had seen through Xayden in the same amount of time during a fight they had. Even that damn vampire had stood no chance of fooling her. She was always on guard, always protecting herself and others from being hurt.

Always.

As he righted himself, he spoke to her about the dueling club that had been headed by a Centaur, seemingly fascinated with the idea, not that she could blame him for she herself had shared that same fascination when she had first met that mysterious creature during their first club meeting.
" It was rather interesting to learn from him, I admit. He taught me things that I would have never learned on my own and he was patient with me, a great mentor. Yes, they are capable of magic, though it is very different than the magic that you and I possess, unlike us they are in tune with the natural magic that their bodies produce. He taught me how to protect myself without using my  wand or even a simple incantation as well as teaching me a few other tricks as well." It was something that would definately manage to help her later on both in life as well as in her chosen career path. " No you are not far off. Right om track actually, I do wish to become an auror after I graduate. As for the duel offer, I am always up for a challenge." She smirked lightly, her blue eyes lighting up at the idea of a race even if it was just around the grounds. " Very well then, mister Souris. Just be warned that even if I am not professional like you are, I can still give you a run for your money." He would be very surprised if he dared to go easy on her.
