Meggera walked into her dorm and placed her bag onto her trunk before flopping down onto her bed. What a long day it had been. There seemed to be no end to the homework this week, it was almost over whelming. She could handle it though, it just meant she wouldn't be able to play violin as much for next week. She pulled her diary out from under her pillow before unlocking it with her secret password. She laid it out on her pillow and grabbed a self-inking quill from her bedside table.
Today was long. The teachers are really laying on the homework to prepare us for next year. Its understandable, I just wish I really had a use for it. I got some letters from home today. James is starting to feel the pressure from gramps, he's homeschooling him in some basic subjects to get him ready for Hogwarts next year. Poor kid, he just wants to ride his horse and have fun.
Alex seems to be doing well in London. He's working for a private company, though he didn't say what exactly. Something to do with racing brooms. He's waiting for another opportunity to try out for professional Quidditch. Hopefully this time he'll make it on the team. Last time he made it to the final round of try-outs. I'll keep my fingers crossed for him.
Father didn't say much. No surprise there... He's busy as usual. It seems every other week someone's threatening war between our countries over mind numbingly idiotic reasons.
Grandfathers letter is the longest. He wants me to meet someone over summer break...again. Will the set ups never end? He won't be happy until I'm engaged and married off. Preferably the moment I graduate. He of course doesn't approve of me wanting to further my education at St. Mungo's, which he expanded on in detail. Vampires....thats the problem with them..especially the old ones...they can't seem to stay with the times or don't want too. He's worse than father. All this about how its inappropriate for women to work and that our place is at home as wives. At least father thinks my education is important. Perhaps he can convince him to let me study after school....delay the inevitable a little longer. -sigh- Hopefully this guy will at least be around my age...the last one was nearly 30....
I should get to all that homework..no use getting myself worked up over something thats months away.
She closed the diary with a sigh and slipped it back under her pillow before pulling her bag onto her bed to start on her potions essay.
