It was a warm evening in the very beginning of the accursed days of the summer holiday. Aleksandr sat in his study with a small but thick book held open in his left hand and a chilled glass of his favorite wine in his right hand. Icy blue eyes ran over the words that were written inside the book lazily, carefully taking in each and every word with an almost unhealthy fascination. It had been far too long since the vampire had allowed himself to read anything other than the works of Shakespeare and while the other was his absolute favorite, he had almost forgotten that it was possible to enjoy the works of other authors as well. Tonight he had chosen to lose himself amongst the words of the brilliant Charles Dickens and had been completely engrossed in his work, A Tale of Two Cities when he was oh so rudely interrupted by the familiar sound of an owl's beak tapping against the window of his study and while he had tried to ignore it in the hopes that it would go away, but the owl would have none of it. The tapping against his window grew louder and louder and now the owl began calling impatiently for the vampire to open the window.
With an irritated sigh, the vampire shut the book roughly and sat the cup of wine that he had held in his hand down on the small table that he had strategically placed next to his armchair before standing and making his way over to his window with an annoyed growl. He was more than willing to bet that the owl had some sort of last minute assignment for him that was passed onto him because another auror had either turned it down or had somehow managed to screw it up in one way or another. Opening the window, he quickly took the envelope that held the letter from the ministry from the owl before glaring at it as it flew off. It was a moment later that he shut the window again, making his way back over to his armchair and plopping down on it with a soft huff, tearing the top off of the envelope before opening the letter that had been encased inside with narrowed eyes.
Auror Dombrovski,
Due to your previous agreement to become a mentor in the training program that is offered in our department at the Ministry Of Magic, you, along with some of the others that have been blessed with numerous years of experience in the field will be required to take under your wing a new A.I.T [Auror in Training] that we have been gifted with from this year's graduating class. What this means is that you will be expected to properly train and inform your new trainee just what it is that we expect of our aurors in terms of behavior, experience and decision making. You will be responsible for properly preparing your trainee for what obsticles they may face in the line of duty, remember that their success or failure in the field depends on you and whatever it is that you teach them. Please take this seriously.
The name of your A.I.T is Xayden Christopher-Roubsouay Andrews, a note further information on him is tucked within the envelope, including the marks that he has received during his time at Hogwarts. He will be contacted at some point within the next week with the news that a mentor for him has been assigned along with the date and place where you two will be meeting on said date. The two of you will be meeting at your residence in Hogsmeade on the First of June, after that date it will be up to you to come up with your own meeting times.
Thank you for your time and participation in the program. Any questions or concerns may be sent to our department via owl where a representative shall be in touch with you at the soonest possible time. Thank you again for your time.
Sincerely,
Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Ministry Of Magic.
As he finished reading the letter from the ministry he reached inside of the envelope, pulling out the note that had also been placed inside. A picture of his trainee was clipped to the very top of the letter and the very instant that his eyes landed on the photo he couldn't stop the grin from forming on his lips. So he would be the one receiving the honor of getting to train the Hogwarts champion of the Triwizard Tournament. This was certainly going to be lots of fun.
Let the games begin~
