As Alleyne sat by herself in the Hogwarts Library that rainy afternoon, she couldn't help being glad that she had only had morning classes that day. She liked having time to herself, time where she could just focus on things that made her happy, and not just one textbooks and essays. And today was no different, when she'd realized her afternoon was free, and that it was too rainy out to really hang out on the grounds, Alley had made her way to the library. She'd been meaning to find some time to just hide out and read some Shakespeare, and today brought the perfect oppurtunity.

As she entered the library, she made her way to the section that contained mostly muggle written fiction, and quickly found a book containing Shakespeare's complete works. she wasn't sure if it was her sincere obsession with theatre or her strange addiction to tragic romance and comedy, but Alley just adored Shakespeare. Finding a table in the corner, she sat down and opened to one of her favorite plays, Antony and Cleopatra. She smiled as she turned the pages, losing herself and completely ignoring everything else in the room.

Sapphire yawned as she made her way to the library. She'd spent most of the night researching St. Mungos most recent studies on common illnesses, and she'd almost fallen asleep in potions as a result. Now she was a day behind in her school work, sleep deprived and decidedly grouchy. She'd narrowly avoided a run in with Ruby, and the effort left her feeling drained. Still, she needed good marks if she was going to go on to NEWT level, and she needed NEWT level potions to qualify for a St. Mungos apprenticeship. This she repeated like a mantra as she drug her feet to the library. Crossing the room to the research section, she ran her fingers over the titles until she found one entitled "Potions: The Art and Science' Freeing it from the shelf, she walked in a deceptively leisurely fashion to the nearest table. There was another girl, one she recognized as a fellow Ravenclaw, sitting across the table, looking throroughly absorbed in her own book.

She spared the girl a glance, deciding it was better to be curteous. "Do you mind if I sit here?" She motioned to the chair farthest from the girl in question. She had no intention of being overly social today. While she normally didn't mind making new acquaintances, her energy reserves were exhausted. Where was a pepper up potion when she needed one? Still, networking had been drilled into her head since birth, and ettiquite commanded she be charming under all circumstances.

Alley was almost completely oblivious to everything around her as she read about the tragic love of Cleopatra and Marc Antony. So when someone spoke, snapping her out of her bubble, she looked up in surprise. "Do you mind if I sit here?" the girl asked, standing at the other end of the table. Looking at the girl, Alley recognized her as a fellow Ravenclaw, though she was pretty sure the girl was a year or 2 behind her, her name was Sapphire. Alley didn't know her too well, mostly because of the age difference she suspected, but she'd never had a problem with her.

A small smile on her face, she gave the girl a short nod. "No, I don't mind at all," she said softly, keeping her voice quiet out of respect for the fact that they were in a library, "there's plenty of room at the table, and you won't be bothering me at all." Glancing at the other girl's book, she realized it was on potions, which wasn't necessarily Alley's favorite class, but she did enjoy it to an extent. "Potions huh? Studying for class? Or did you just feel like reading up on it on your own?" she asked curiously, smile still on her face, "I don't mean to be nosey, I was just wondering." She didn't want to come off as nosey, she was simply making a bit of conversation.
