Alexandra was doing what every other mother was doing at this day and time, shopping for school supplies. Her children were out and about by themselves since they were old enough while she bought their things. She brought them with her so they could see their friends more than anything because she liked to shop alone. It was easier to just grab and send home than to sit there with everyone bickering. As she walked passed one of the stores with grime filling its window she found herself sticking her wand into her bun, no longer feeling the need to carry it. She had easy access if she were to need it and she could pull it out rather quickly, it was better than sticking it in her back pocket.
When she reached the book store she slipped in between two speaking mothers with her face tilted down. This was when she was generally recognized, when she was shopping for her children, everyone knew her. The children especially caught sight of her bright red hair and started pointing, ”Oh my god look! It’s Alexandra Rousseau! The seeker for Tutshill Tornadoes!” followed her everywhere. But today it had yet to happen and she was very happy for that. She could possibly get through a little bit more shopping before she was recogni—and she thought too soon. The minute she stepped foot inside she bumped into a child holding a broom and a broom meant Quidditch.
The child let out a squeal and screamed for her siblings, ”HEY GUYS IT’S ALEXANDRA ROUSSEAU! THE SEEKER FOR TUTSHILL TORNADOES!” Alexandra made a face for a moment at the squeal before recovering. She made a slight smile and looked at the group that now surrounded her. ”Hello. Hello. Nice to meet you all.” She spoke softly as she shook their hands. She did love when the children adored her and she met her fans but when she was shopping she liked to be left alone. After a few minutes of the banter from them a large woman walked over and began to shoo them away. ”Leave the poor woman alone. Get your books. I apologize Ms. Rousseau. They’re just fans. Shopping for the children?” She spoke to her with a good natured laugh.
Alexandra let out a sigh and nodded, it was nice when she was spoken to like an adult. ”It’s perfectly fine. I’m used to it but yes, shopping for the kids. Five of them.” She chuckled and shook her head, she was proud of having five children but it was still odd saying it. Just sixteen years prior to this she had no children and was a brand new star to the quidditch world, now she was in it for seventeen years. The large woman gave her hand out which Alexandra shook, ”Nice to meet you Ms. Rousseau. I’m Mrs. Poppet, I hope you have a great day and I hope the other parents mind you just as much. Good luck!” She laughed and Alexandra smiled, she enjoyed when women did that for her.
”Have a nice day yourself. I’m sure no one will be as sweet. Good luck to you too!” She spoke before slipping into the racks and racks of books to pick up a few she didn’t have for the older children. Luckily she had two of most books from the older twins.
When she finished getting all the books she needed she went up to pay for them and slipped back out of the store without getting stopped. She stepped out into the sunlight and heat with one hand over her eyes; she needed to get potions supplies now.
She looked both ways quickly before stepping further into the crowded cobblestone street and turned towards where the apothecary was. ”Here we go again.” She chuckled to herself before heading off in that direction with a slight smirk playing at her lips.
