Speaking nearly to himself, he answered a question he didn't even realize she was thinking about. "When they built this house, they apparently bought four new houses together on the corner and then connected them all together inside. Much easier then extended wizard spaces, something which I suspect is pretty expensive, but the ceiling here I'm told is one which is why it's so great for flying practice."
He stepped down off the stool, replaced it, and then went to find the others she had requested. It was awkward for him at the moment actually as he wasn't sure what to say to her. They had already had a rather difficult conversation that got personal for her, he wasn't sure she could stand another one anytime soon! She mentioned Europe and he nodded, selecting another three (Ireland, Wales, and Scotland in one, Germany, Switzerland, Holland in a second), one of them on the influence of the roman culture on different mythologies across Europe.
"There, a general selection. There aren't tons of these, but there are a few more on other areas. Nothing near Romania so much though it seems." As he stood, she brought up something which he wasn't completely sure of himself. There had been many times he had thought so, certainly, but he had not stuck with those same thoughts. "Sometimes, when I was younger and didn't understand so well I did."
Turning to her he caught her hand and led her over to the side near one of the tall windows, mostly out of habit of never standing in the middle way blocking passage, not that it was a big deal in here! "I don't like his methods, of course, and it's made my life very edgy and hard, more so for my mother. But hate? Too strong a word. For all that he did, he was trying to give me the education to keep this all going after him and in that I think he succeeded. Maybe he knew how little time he had. Who knows?"
He looked down at her hands seeing the ring and his face turned thoughtful. "Sometimes I wonder if that was the only way he could show he cared to a child. He was never fond of children especially underfoot, but he made a point of dealing with me the best he could. He was from a different time really, two wars and the deaths of many he knew. I can't really know, but I'd like to think he had good reasons in his mind. I only wish I understood him more I guess."
