His nights had begun on a fast spiral to restless, and even his uncle's potions were not lessening the pain that racked him when he slept. He had managed to stay in the common room for a majority of the night, just staring into the fire with a dazed expression. Even that little, sweet smile that he normally wore was not present in his face. He was all but unreachable as he slowly started withdrawing into his mind. Night after night, day after day, he was growing more unreachable and still trying so hard to fall asleep...and finally if happened.
He was moving, eyes closed, through the castle.
How he managed to get outside without being spotted was beyond anyone's guess. He moved through the grounds with his eyes darting back and forth behind his lids. Somewhere in his mind, he was hiding away. He felt...like a failure. The whole of his heart seemed to be growing a solid shield around it and it seemed to desire to save everyone from his insane ability to screw everything up. He'd slowly started pushing people away and telling even his friends that he was sorry, even though he had no reason to be sorry.
He was disappearing into the waters of the lake, and even the cold was not jolting him from it. Whatever demon had a hold of him, it was not letting him go. The cold was drastically lowering his body temperature, those lips turning blue with cold as his chest submerged. There was the sound of a soft gasp as seaweed wrapped tightly around his limbs and greedily pulled the sleepwalking form beneath the water.
His body went into shock, and for a moment, the strangest feeling of peace and panic started settling over his senses as the shock was building up in his feet.
