this life is sparkling, don't you let it go
I'M WONDERSTRUCK, BLUSHING ALL THE WAY HOME
Spring. Valley loved spring, she loved how it finally got warmer and the trees and plants came alive again. She also loved how the grounds came alive with all the smells of flowers and dew and no longer just smelled like brittle cold. Today was a Saturday, which meant that Valley had no classes, something she was immensely grateful for, as it was just to nice out to be cooped up indoors. Unlike some of her housemates, who choose to sleep extremely late on weekends, Valley had woken up very early, as she often did. As soon as she'd showered and thrown some clothes on, she'd grabbed a couple of her comics, and had headed outside.
She hadn't necessarily planned it, but she'd subconsciously ended up making her way to the same spot writer a few months ago, just before the yule ball, when she'd found out that the boy she'd adored for a long time, liked her back. Sitting down on the ground, under the very same tree, leaning her back against the trunk, a content smile on her face, she thought back to that day. She'd been so sure she didn't have a chance, had even been talking to herself on the matter, only to find out he had been there the entire time, and that he felt the same way about her as she did about her as she did about him, by some miracle. And when he had asked her to the ball? She had just about died of happiness.
The ball had been amazing, dancing with him all night had been perfect, no perfect didn't even begin to cover it. When she'd gone home for the holidays soon after, she'd found herself saddened that she had to be away from him, even though she was going to be able to spend more time with her family. And since she'd gotten back to Hogwarts? Between classes and Quidditch practices and games, she didn't get to spend nearly as much time with him as she would have liked. But she still tried to spend as much time with him as she could, even if that wasn't much. She was just glad to have him in her life at all.
Opening her comic book up, and beginning to read, she kind of spaced out, not paying attention to anything. She just completely let herself get lost in the adventures of the superheroes in the comic. She'd been sitting there for a couple of hours now, and was now making her way through her 4th X-men comic. She knew that most students were awake now, and that some were wandering the courtyards, and walking by her, but she didn't pay them any mind, she was in her own little world, her eyes scanning the pages excitedly, her long blonde hair hanging in her face.
