As Calypso made her way through the streets of Hogsmeade that warm summer afternoon, a small but genuine smile on her face, she felt a sense of freedom she hadn't felt in almost a year. It had been 3 weeks since she'd decided she just couldn't take it anymore, that she couldn't force herself to stay in an unhappy marriage just to keep her parents happy. And so she and Zane had separated, and he had moved out of the manor, and into a flat in London. Caly had been more than willing to move out herself, Donovan manor was really his, not hers, but he had insisted she stay, and had packed his own things, and she had decided not to end their relationship with yet another argument, they had already had more than enough of those for ten years let alone one.
She knew he was still convinced that this was temporary, that he could convince her things had changed, that he had changed, and that she would then take him back. But after everything he had done to her and it her through back at Hogwarts, she knew in her heart that no matter how much she still loved him, she would never be able to let herself trust him or let her guard down with him again. So being together, it just wouldn't ever work again, he had seen to that when he had destroyed her when they were teenagers. Ending the marriage, separating, was the only option if she wanted any chance of being happy again, and so she had. Her parents were not taking it well, but she had expected that. Her father would get over it, and she honestly didn't care if her mother did or not.
She had woken up this morning in relatively good spirits. Since she didn't have to work or have any other plans today, she decided that doing some shopping could be fun. Normally she would head to London or Diagon Alley, but it had been so long since she'd been to Hogsmeade, and she had to say she missed the quaint village, so she had decided to head there instead. And she had to say she was glad she had made the choice, it was so nice out and Hogsmeade was beautiful in summer. She was spending as much time walking around the cobbled streets as she was actually shopping. There was just a faint light breeze, and it felt his against her face and through her hair. It was a perfect day, and it was nice to be out. She had just excited another shop, and was making her way down the street, when she tripped over a loose stone, almost tumbling over and selling her bags. Thankfully, she just barely managed to regain her balance and hang on to get bags. But as she did so, she found herself kicking eyes with a random man on the street, holding his gaze only for a split second before shifting her gaze away, and letting her mind wander back to her shopping, pondering if she should take a break and grab a coffee.
