The first day of school was always something that Aito used to look forward to, this year he found it surrounded with bittersweet emotions. The train ride had been partly miserable in the beginning, after having to kiss Xayden goodbye between the couple escaping tears that slid from his eyes, and the soft whispers of love and how much he was going to miss him, and he found himself watching his fiancee disappear as the train pulled away. He watched him until his body became too small to see any longer and slumped quietly in the car he had chosen to sit in. His eyes had shut and he did his best to look asleep to deter people from entering the car. He really did just want to be alone and to hold on to the scent of his lover for just a while in silence, when the compartment door slid open slowly.
Aito looked up in time to see Bella Walsh's green eyes peering in at him and for a moment, he was happy to see someone that he knew. She asked if she could slip in with him for a moment, which he did not deny her, and she perched in the seat across from him quietly and asked him of his summer. He told her of his training, of his achievements within his family, but the bright witch could see through his mask of a smile and asked him if he missed Xayden.
In that moment, his eyes closed. Yes, he'd said, he missed him. He was going to miss him to the point of aching. His family had not allowed him much time with his sweet love, pushing him into accepting his responsibilities harder than normal. He had hoped to do so much with Xayden, but every time he turned part way 'round, someone was pulling him away for more training. Fighting, spells, and worse...he had been forced to sit through the interviews with the potential carriers of his future child, the future heir or heiress of the Satoshi line. That truly creeped him out.
Honestly, how was he supposed to feel, sitting in his grandfather's study face to face with an Asian girl from a pureblood family that either looked at him with such adoration that he felt the need to bolt, or an expression that only read of duty. He had turned down nearly a dozen girls, much to his grandfather's frustration. However, he had expressed clearly that any female that he was going to allow into his and Xayden's marriage bed was going to have to fit certain criteria from himself on top of the family's former ideals. There would have to be an understanding that this was not an act of love, that the Satoshi male would not form an emotional attraction to the woman. She should show a zest for life, after all it was not all his genes in this child. She must be willing to part with the child after birth. He would have liked her to be musically inclined, graceful, and fierce in an attempt to have his child be the same.
He was only 17, why did all of adulthood have to rush him like this?
During Christmas break this year, he was told that his gift would be the home of their choosing. One in London, to be close to St. Mungo's where he would be working and near the ministry where Xayden would be working, and one in Japan to be close to his roots and allow his children to study in his former school if they wished. It was a welcome thought that he would not be expected to stay in Kamakura all the time. While he loved his family, they could be condesending.
But, now he was dressed in his Hogwarts uniform and he was staring down at his plate of breakfast that had been all but untouched and he was poking at his tamagoyaki with a jade chopstick that he held in his hand. It smelled delicious, but he was not truly hungry. The House Elves always seemed happy to provide the cultural foods that some of the students were accustomed to and he was welcomed with a hot pot of green tea every morning, but even the smell of the tea was not doing anything for the fact that he missed his fiancee.
Quietly, he pulled the small bowl of okayu toward himself and repositioned his chopsticks in his fingers before eating it slowly. The bland flavor was a good match to how he felt right now, plus, it was easier to digest. He watched others from his house chatting exictedly among themselves and smiled weakly as peple waved to him, offering a quiet nod of acknowledgement to those who called to him.
Was it bad that he was already counting down the days to the first time they would be allowed into Hogsmeade?
