It was funny just quickly this summer in particular seemed to have flown by. It seemed as though it was only yesterday that he had been at Hogwarts, competing in the Triwizard Tournament. It seemed as though it was only yesterday that he had been at the graduation ceremony and it was partially because of that that an almost overwhelming feeling of sadness began to plague him, especially as the time came for him to say goodbye to his lover. It had been with a heavy heart that he held the younger male and kissed him farewell, wiping away the tears that had fallen from his lover's eyes before waiting at the station until he could no longer see the train and sighing with an extremely heavy heart he had apparated to his childhood home in Plymouth to await dusk to come and steal his boredom away.
Today was the day that he would go and meet his mentor, an auror that went by the same surname as his terrifying former Transfiguration professor, something that made him somewhat nervous. While Xayden was not usually scared of people that were not the same species as him, [ hell before Aito, he had at one point been attracted to a guy that was half-vampire for Merlin's sake!] Professor Nikolai [who was rumored by numerous people to be a vampire] had been the one exception. Now he was to study underneath someone that was sur e to be a relative of his without having any sort of idea just what type of person [or vampire] that this Aleksandr was, something that made him extremely nervous when it all came down to it.
The last thing that he needed at this moment in time was another person to disrupt his life just as things were starting to fall into place for him. He would have to place a large majority of trust in this man, this man that he did not know and he knew that he had the bad luck of having the worst types of people enter his life. He could only hope that his mentor would be one of the few exceptions.
His thoughts were interrupted when he glanced at the grandfather clock that was inside of the room that he was currently sitting in. It was nearing the designated meeting time for him and his mentor and if he didn't hurry and leave he was going to be late. So the Burman stood and reached into the pocket of his jeans, pulling out a piece of paper that had both the designated meeting time and the location of where he was supposed to be meeting his mentor was at written neatly on it. With a quick glance at the parchment and a soft pop, he was off landing moments later in the familiar town of Hogsmeade.
With his hands shoved into his pockets and his eyes locked on the ground, he made his way through the town that held so many of his dearest memories. The candy shop where he had spent most of his third year visiting with Matthias and his brother in his spare time. The Three Broomsticks, the pub where he had spent many livelt nights drinking with Alejandro. The tea house where he had snuck off to for conversations with either Noah or his other less sociable friends. There were so many memories locked in the walls of those buildings and yet the man continued on past all of them until he reached the residential area of the town where he kept on walking until he reached a house that was located farther away than any other one, a house that was almost isolated and after checking the house number, he made his way to the front door, knocking firmly on the dark wood and waiting for an answer.
Let the games begin.
