" There is also magic that can be used without a wand, though this magic tends to be only defensive and it is very difficult to learn how to use properly." This had been the one thing that Luna herself had struggled the most with throughout her stay at Hogwarts. The centaur that had taught her this particular branch of magic had been patient and kind, something that Luna was especially grateful for.

She would have to seek him out one of these days and thank him properly for his lessons.

As they walked down the halls in complete silence, they eventually turned a corner and it was then that the younger boy put a hand up in an attempt to stop her. He spoke again, warning her that the nuisance of a ghost Peeves had been sighted in this corrider earlier in the day and he had a feeling that Peeves had been up to something. A brow furrowed slightly as she thought of her options. Normally, Peeves wouldn't dare try to prank her as she had managed to form something of a good relationship with the one who was put in charge of him, The Bloody Baron. She knew where to find the Slytherin house ghost and how to word her complaints so that Peeves got the maximum amount of punishment possible.

At the same time there was nothing protecting the first year that she was currently with and she knew that she would not always be around to keep him safe from Peeves. A smirk crossed her features and she turned on her heel. " Come Thomas. I will show you a secret passageway that is known by only us Ravens and the professors. It will take us from where we are at and the exit will leave us directly in front of the Ravenclaw common room. Be sure to use this whenever Peeves is lurking around." She would tell him about the Bloody Baron another time.

Looking at Luna he blinked a couple times in suprize then turned to follow her. "Ok that should come in handy I wouldn't want to be on the reciving end of one of his pranks I can tell you." He said as he stuck his wand back into his pocket. Somehow he had pulled it out subcontiously when he had stoppped in the corridor but without knowing any jinxes yet Thomas wouldn't have known what to do if Peeves did come out. Thomas could alway just wave it at Peeves and hope that he could swat him away. As he followed Luna Thomas tryed to think of something to talk about so that they didn't have to walk in just silence.

"Oh hey was there anything you wanted to know about baseball before we got to the commen room?" He asked hopeing that she still wanted to know. Thomas really did like baseball in fact him and his dad had spent a lot of the summer going to ball games before they had moved. Those were the happiest moments Thomas had had that summer which were more then enough to make up for the several times he had changed. A small tingal ran up Thomas's spine again making his skin feel tight once more. *damnit go away please not now.* Thomas thought to himself as he continued to follow Luna.
