From Hogsmeade, hand in hand, she guided him back to the castle and back to that very spot where they had first met. The sun was setting behind the trees just beyond the lake. In that spot, a stone bench had been placed and decorated with red climbing roses that bloomed fully in the setting light. Admittedly, she was impressed with that addition. Leave it to a real romantic to help bring out the best of being told what was happening. She'd have to thank Aito later for that.
The smile on her lips was unavoidable as they neared the location and surrounding the bench was thousands of silver candles in various heights and thickness. They were placed in a random gathering but she was sure that there was some method to the arrangement. She looked over at Artemis and smiled up at him. "Do you remember the significance of this spot, love?"
She invited him to sit on the bench and pulled out her wand, uttering an igniting spell to make the candles spark to life. The warm glow of the light on the grass was something comforting and it made her smile softly. "Darling, you know that I love you more than anything. And I've been slowly searching for the right words to get the right words to really get the way that I'm feeling. 'Forever' doesn't even come close. It took a lot of digging, but I think I finally figured out how to say it."
She flicked her wand again and the little flames on the candles began to flicker and lower, then began to raise and fall in a slow, rhythm before the clear notes were heard among the flame flickers. She bit her lip a little, trying to fight back all the nervousness that suddenly bubbled up as her fingers tucked stray locks of dark hair back behind her ear. It was a few moments with the candles' music before she took a deep breath and started to sing. Aside from the vague nervous tremor, she managed to coax some power out of her pipes and her voice managed to come across as clear after a short while.
Carefully, she eased into his lap and smiled softly through the words of the song, softly tucking his hair behind his ears before running her fingertips softly through those locks. She always touched him very tenderly, but this time, there was something beyond that normal tenderness. Her fingertips could have the equivalent of a brush of a stroke of a dove's wings. In the longer pauses of the song, she placed soft kisses to his lips and smiled softly to him until each and every word was delivered to him and she kept his gaze through the whole song, gazing softly into his eyes.
Love? Yes. This was love.
