Lindsey was walking through the kitchen with a flimsy nightgown underneath (though in emerald green so not see through, with little bits of gold stitch work around the edges) and a flaming red and orange silk robe over it all, tied with a sash loosely. She didn't give a damn about it clashing; no guests were coming, her children were used to their mother's rather flashy style, and hubby was still upstairs at his desk doing his damn school preparations. Char was around somewhere and Vin was still finishing off his breakfast his nose in a book called Zen something. Lindsey rolled her eyes and looked out the window, opening it to feel the weather. When one lived out in the ocean you learned rather quickly to not believe in nature's looks as much as the sensations she sent your way.
Didn't feel like a storm and the sun was out. Good enough.
Going back into the kitchen she said over her shoulder "Vin!" "Yes, mum..." Lindsey had just reached for the fruit drawer but the tone of her son's voice made her pause. "The zombies have gotten in the sugar bowl again." "That's all right then..." Grabbing a pair of oranges she stepped back and wound up for the pitch, nailing the boy's forehead the first try. A surprised sound as he startled up, arms windmilling as his chair went over backwards and he and his book hit the floor. "Wanna try for another round?" A pair of eyes looked out from under the table edge and took in her outfit and the fact she was tossing another orange up and down. "What did I say? I mean," spotting her catch it with intent, "yes Ma'am."
"More like it. Clear out. Take your brother and sister out. Get sun." She got out a few bags with her wand and made sure an orange and apple and a thermos of water went in each as she spoke, still in sight of her oldest boy who was much alert now, trying to keep the orange and get his toast off his plate without providing another target to her view. "Yes Ma'am, right away..." he said crawling backwards for the door. "Here, take these," and she wanded the three bags towards them which he caught, dropping his book and loosing his place temporarily. He nodded and stood collecting his stuff fast and got out. She whistled as she wanded his stuff back into the kitchen and dumped them in the sink to deal with later.
Pulling out more fruit she whipped her wand around and the blender began liquefying them all, making a smoothie with the rich yogurt she had bought the other day. She had enough for two glasses and while she wasn't big time health conscious, smoothies did taste good and she had to take care of her man, especially as he would be back off to school soon. Smiling, Lindsey got both glasses and headed upstairs with intent in her mind.
