"Oh no you don't my pretty!" Madalyn giggled as she closed her fingers tightly around the woman's thin neck and throwing her down to the ground. The woman caught herself before she hit the pavement, breathing heavily and attempting to crawl away. Madalyn cackled, slamming her steel-toed boot into the woman's ribs and smirking as something snapped. "Now Heather dear, you know better than to run away. You know what happens to deserters." She bent over, grabbing a fistful of the woman's straw-colored hair and pulling her head back. She squatted besides Heather, who was down on her hands on knees, shaking violently with sobs as Madalyn held her there. "Please!" She croaked through the blood and tears "I've changed! I really have! Please don't kill me!" Madalyn pursed her lips shaking her head slowly, not that Heather could tell.
"Most people de-humanize their victims..." Mad said, ignoring the woman's plea, "I don't, I make each one special...I want to remember, every little bit..." She grinned, leaning over to press her cheek against's the other woman's "You're going to be special." She whispered, her voice soft, almost soothing. She closed her eyes drew a small silver dagger out of a sheath that was strapped to her thigh. Moving quickly she brought the thin blade up to the woman's exposed throat, pressing down and cutting across in one fluid movement. Heather gasped, though it quickly turned to a gurgle as the blood began to flow. Maddy released the dying woman, who then fell against Madalyn who faltered slightly before steadying herself. Heather's blood was warm...Madalyn had to remind herself that it was infact Heather's blood and not her own. Madalyn stood, pushing the now lifeless woman onto the ground were she lay, staring up at the stars in a pool of her own blood.
Knife still in hand Madalyn straddled the body, dropping down onto her knees so she sat on the dead woman's abdomen. With her free hand she ripped the woman's shirt open, buttons flying in every direction. She brought up her knife, slicing through the now exposed skin. She cut deep, the blade scraping against the bone. When she was done she stood, looking down at her handiwork. The cross spread across the woman's flat chest, red and gory. She bent over and closed the dead woman's eyes. "May God have mercy on your soul, and mine as well." with that she turned on her heel and disapparated, leaving the woman's dead body on the street to be discovered in the morning.
Madalyn appeared in the Lazarus castle standing on top of the large dining room table. She stumbled, tripping over her own feet and crashing down onto the hard wood surface. She rolled over flopping onto her back, groaning loudly, blood smearing out around her as she moved. She lay there, staring up at the ceiling, unsure of what to do. She always thought doing it would make her feel better, but she still felt as terrible and lost as she had before, maybe worse. Sometimes she wanted to stop, be done with the killing, but she knew she couldn’t, not until everyone was safe, and all the monsters were gone.
