Calypso sighed as she sat down on the couch located in the center of the large sitting room of Donovan Manor. She was glad that for now at least, Zane seemed to be nowhere in sight. She was sure he was in the house, due to the fact that his dog Max was nowhere in sight as well, and normally he followed Jaycee around like a lovesick puppy when Zane was away. But thankfully, although he was home, he seemed to have found something other than aggravating her to do with his time, and for that Calypso truly was glad. Curling up comfortably on the couch, the warmth from the fireplace hitting her, she opened the book she had begun reading earlier that day in hopes of finishing a little more of it. All of a sudden, her beautiful German Shepherd Lulu came bolting into the room and stopped near her feet in front of the couch. She looked at the empty space on the couch, and barked cheerfully, as if to ask if it was all right to join her, and laughing, Calypso nodded, and patted the spot letting the dog know it was fine to jump up. Lulu jumped excitedly onto the couch, and curled up near Calypso's feet with an almost smile on her face. Jaycee, Calypso's siberian husky, was asleep not far from the couch, right in front of the fireplace and funnily enough sounded a bit like she was snoring.
Smiling, she patted Lulu on the head. "hey there girl, it's good to see you," she cooed. And with that, she went back to reading her book. She hoped beyond hope that she wouldn't be interupted, but knew that eventually, Zane would surely come bother her... as much as she dreaded it. It was so hard being in the same room with him. So hard to pretend like she wanted him to go away, when truly all she wanted was to be in his arms. But she was determined not to let herself get hurt again, and that meant she had to keep herself from giving into him. So, she continue to make him think she wanted nothing to do with him, let him think she hated him, even though, deep down, she never could. Merlin her life had become difficult, living a lie, being married to someone she had hoped never to see again when she graduated, but at the same time, someone she secretly hated not seeing whenever he was gone. She sighed again, as she continued to read in silence.
