BOGGART Becoming attached to people and losing them or being betrayed by them in the end.
MIRROR OF ERISED To be powerful so that she will be in control of everything and never have to be afraid.
PATRONUS White Wolf Spider – Spiders are creatures that are behind the scenes; they don't show themselves unless they want to. They are solitary, they play with their victims like they are insignificant, and weave beautiful webs to lure them in. These are all such aspects that apply to Cas' personality.
PERSONALITY Cas sees everything and everyone as an experiment.
What will happen if I act nice to this person? Act mean to this one? How will the professors react if I get amazing grades in classes and yet act like I couldn't care less about any of them? It's like a game, and her incredible curiosity is never satisfied, leading her to do more and more extravagant things. She is not genuine to anyone, instead using masks and playing roles like she is part of the theater, because that would mean that she would be investing her emotions and personal aspects, which is something she's always feared doing. Real emotions are an undesired variable, something that needs to be controlled absolutely.
Cassiopeia is manipulative, she loves playing with peoples lives, seeing what will happen if say, a girl catches her with her boyfriend in what might seem like a compromising situation, what will happen if she confesses undying love to a stranger. She weaves words like a spider weaves a beautiful, iridescent web, using lies and whatever else she can to try to get the outcome she is looking for. The ends justify the means right? She is an extremely apathetic individual, disconnected from the world and the people around her, few things being able to invoke emotion in her. It's the reason she is so bent on fulfilling her curiosity, at playing the parts she plays and using her masks, because it's fun, something she can actually get enjoyment out of, even if it means others suffer for it - they usually do, because her favourite games involve causing emotional anguish and pain.
The reason this is such may be due to Cas' fear of becoming attached to people and end up being left alone or behind. It is a fear that is buried deep down within herself, but it is the reason why she forces herself to be alone, independent, so that there isn't anything she can lose. She wants people and things to be pieces on a chess board, because that way she is in control and can make sure she is never at risk of being on her own unless she wills it as such. Always misunderstood and called a freak, she finds people so incredibly difficult to connect to, and so simply views them as experiments to play with and nothing else.
The only person she trusts utterly and unreservedly is her brother, Scorpius, because he understands her, completely, and doesn't view her as a freak. She has a rather unhealthy attachment to him and is incredibly protective of his well-being. He doesn't force her to be like anyone "normal", and so she finds herself viewing him as, not an experiment, but someone precious and off-limits of anyone. She trusts her parents, of course, and loves them dearly because of the good environment they provided her for growing up, but she fears their disapproval, fears that they would see her as strange because of her behaviours. These three people are the only ones who can get an actual emotional response out of her that isn't entirely, purposefully falsified.- - - - -

HISTORY One might wonder how and why Cassiopeia grew up to be the way she is if you know her history, because it is one not filled with tragedy or unkindness. But one would have to look between the lines. She and her brother were brought up in a very privileged home, even if there was some tension that she and Scorpius were well aware of between their father's side of the family and their mother, being a non-pureblood. Her father nonetheless brought them up believing that not all of the traditions needed to be followed absolutely. Cas was always a shy girl when she was little, following behind her brother like a lost animal, depending on him. She hardly spoke back then in the company of people other than her close family.
Growing up, Cas began showing that she was indeed a very different individual. She wasn't like the other girls who would come over during parties, who liked to play silly games like 'house'. She liked plays and fantasy books and was often found later by her parents hiding somewhere, reading a book about things little girls didn't usually read about; like horror stories. She was always curious, asking questions about why people did things and why people said things and why why why. It often got on her father's nerves, but he would never get angry at her, instead he praised her for wanting to be knowledgeable and for wanting to be someone who didn't need to rely on others. Things were good, until she turned ten.
Cassiopeia didn't like the fact that her brother was leaving her, that she couldn't go with him to Hogwarts the same year. Even at that age she hadn't been one to be emotional, but the day she had had to wave goodbye as the Hogwarts Express left, taking Scorpius away, she had cried more than she had ever cried before. The year on her own wasn't one she enjoyed, and she found herself waiting impatiently for when she would turn eleven, when she would get her letter, when she would go to school. However, first year wasn't all it was cracked up to be. To her chagrin and melancholy, she hadn't been sorted into the same house as her beloved brother (can be changed if she ends up a Ravvie), and the people of her house didn't understand her at all. They had thought she was a freak ever since the first day, when she was found after classes bringing bugs into the girls dormitory room.
Her already strong emotional barrier strengthened, and she told herself she wouldn't be hurt if she acted like she didn't care. She would be an actor in a play, she would be the controller of a game, and that way it wouldn't matter if anyone understood her. Of course, this only worked on the surface, but these ideals of hers still remain even today.- - - - -

RP EXPERIENCE? 359839485 years. No, really, I'm completely serious. It's been a long time.
RP SAMPLE. The beautiful scenery. Oh, how it managed to bring up so many memories and thoughts of the girl he already couldn't stop thinking about. How the sun's light reminded him of her smile, the reddening leaves her hair. Dazzling, stunning, breathtaking. This was their favourite season, and though they were hardly found apart to begin with, during these days they were even more so attached like glue. Except Kiryn walked alone that afternoon, without his best friend, his other half, his love. It was wrong in ever way possible. Even so, he continued walking, crunching the leaves beneath his agile feet as he strode elegantly around. There were other students going about their business around him, a couple of them waving at him as he passed, but he could barely muster a smile with half as much warmth as his usually had. He didn't think he could stay around, knowing that someone would find him eventually, even though he was supposed to meet up with Jay in a little while. So with that thought, he made his way to the edge of the forest, seeking sanctuary from the rest of the world.
In order to be found when the time came, Kiryn took out a small slip of parchment out of his pocket, securely wrapping his pumpkin orange scarf around his neck again when it began to shift around at the same time. The rest of his outfit consisting of a slim fitting pair of black jeans, leopard print t-shirt, and black hat, much appropriate than his usual clothing, which was a sign of his total off-ness these days in itself. He used his wand and wrote his friend's name is his gentle cursive writing before finding a crafty way to stick it on a tree right at the edge of the forest. That way he would know where to find him, hopefully. Though right now, with all of the uncharacteristic melancholic thoughts bouncing around his head, he didn't know if meeting with Jay would be a good idea.
Nodding to himself about his handiwork, a bittersweet smile on his lips, he turned his attention to begin walking into the forest itself. One hand was still placed carefully next to the off-white, noticeable parchment, when he promptly stopped almost mid-step. They were attached by an invisible thread, their souls, forever. He should know this by now, and yet the complete and utter shock of seeing Alexandra made him freeze up like an animal trapped by a predator (though the thought of the dear, sweet girl being a predator was so misplaced, at least for now, since who knows how this encounter would go). Of all the people who he could have found in the forest, it had to be her. It was fate, cruel, cruel fate out to get them. The very moment she would look up and catch sight of him he would be unable to move, even the slightest, he knew.
Constricting, twisting, clenching. His heart in a mess of feelings, the shredded pieces of it sent through tumultuous hurricanes as it tried to deal with the simple fact that she was right there, she was so close physically and yet so far emotionally, she who he loved more than anything. And he was unable to go to her, the force keeping him away made up of his own terrible guilt and consuming inability to accept the fact that she - who was perfect in every way in his eyes - could ever love him the way he loved her. It was already in pieces after what had occurred so recently; the party, the realization that he loved Alexandra and the subsequent avoidance that followed, the encounter with the ever tempting Jay. As Kiryn's thoughts drifted to Jay, he felt his eyes prickle with tears. He felt so torn, torn between two people he cared for but had different romantic feelings for. Jay could - more like had - sweep him off his feet in a matter of seconds, send him head over heels and tumbling before he knew it, and wasn't that breathtaking? How could he resist? But Alexandra...
What should he do? He couldn't run, that would be the worse thing he could do, he knew. But for the life of him he couldn't manage to utter even the smallest of sounds from his mouth, even though his lips were parted in an obvious attempt to vocalize something. The truth was, he had no idea what to say. What could he possibly say in this situation? Kiryn didn't want to hurt her, but he already had, so terribly so, just like he himself was hurting because of her. It was a vicious cycle that they needed to break out of soon, to salvage what they have- had- have or else he feared they would forever be lost to one another. That thought was inconceivable. He couldn't live without her, his shining sun of warmth and happiness.
