MIRROR OF ERISED When Layla looks into the Mirror of Erised, she sees her father standing next to her, his eyes shining with pride and happiness, and her holding a newborn baby. There’s another man, but his face is dark, so Layla can’t tell who it is. (She wants a family)
PATRONUS Lipizzaner horses are elegant and beautiful, so it’s really not that surprising that Layla’s patronus takes the form of a Lipizzaner mare.
PERSONALITY Jay raised his daughter to think for herself and never let anyone talk her into something she’s not comfortable with. Layla lives her life by those two principles, and sometimes turns them back on her father in jest. She loves to laugh, but is terrible at telling jokes though that doesn’t stop her from trying. If there was one word to describe her, it would be passionate. Everything she does is passionate, from her love to her anger and everything in between. But that passion comes with a price, because when she gets angry she loses herself in the anger and often ends up saying things that she doesn’t mean, hurting the people she loves. Layla is also fearless. While she cares what people say or think about her, she refuses to let other people’s opinions effect how she lives her life. No matter what, Layla will always end up doing what she feels is right, and not base her decision on what other people tell her.

Layla is also somewhat naïve. She learned how to flirt from watching her father, and is quite good at it. But she never really learned the meaning of what she was doing or saying. Even though she knows what sex is (once again, thanks to Jay... though neither were on purpose), she doesn't really understand that either. In many ways she is childish, but other than those she is still smart. If only someone would just explain those few concepts to her!

OTHER Layla’s death eater birth parents are dead, and any other blood relatives are unknown.
HISTORY Jay found Layla during the war, after her death eater parents had been killed in a raid. He tried to leave her in an orphanage, because he felt that it would be the right thing to do. But because so many children were orphaned because of the war, the orphanages turned Jay down, saying that the best option would be to adopt her. So he did just that. Layla officially became Jay’s daughter when she was one year old. They had a big celebration where all of Jay’s friends were invited, along with their kids.

Even though Jay wasn’t her biological father, Layla never felt like he was any less her parent. She never had that moment of screaming, doors slamming, and yelling that Jay wasn’t her real father. Because for all intents and purposes he was. He was the man who raised her to be as good a person as she could possibly be, and she also knew that she wasn’t his biological daughter from a very young age. Still, that never put a damper on their relationship.
