Hello future students,
My name is Professor Edward Andrews, and I am to be the new Care of Magical Creatures for this year at Hogwarts. This year we will be focusing on how to properly treat, care for, and prehaps even befriend the creatures that you may come across either here at Hogwarts, or later on in your wizarding life. Keep in mind that different years will have different information on their syllabi, and what is done in one class may not be done in another.
I do have high expectations for this class. No late work shall be accepted, unless the student has a valid reason for not being able to complete the work, in which case I expect students to come and see me during their free time so that we may work something out. Attendence, and participation are a very lage part of what mark students will recieve in my class, so try not to be absent.
I understand that this isn't a manditory course, and some of you may just be in this class to kill time. Despite this, I ask that all of my students behave themselves during classes. Some of the creatures that we will be working with are very easily startled, and can be quite dangerous because of this. So please, behave yourselves.
Lastly, my classes will be divided based on year. Third and Fourth years will be placed in my first class, also known as Class A. Fifth years will be placed in Class B. They will have their own class so that I may be able to focus on helping them prepare for the O.W.L.s that they will be taking at the end of the year, on top of giving them the regular lessons. Sixth, and seventh years who choose to take my N.E.W.T level classes will be prepared for taking the N.E.W.T.s along with having the chance to work with some of the more dangerous creatures allowed here at Hogwarts.
Those who require extra help with their lessons are encouraged to come speak with me during their free time so that tutoring sessions may be arranged. My office doors are open every day during the week between the hours of five a.m. through eight p.m. Please do not afraid to come to me with any questions or concerns that you may have for as I have previously stated my doors are almost always open.
With that said, I am looking foreward to meeting, and spending the year with each and every one of you.
