Hello future students. My name is Professor Erik Daae (Dye-a. Not Day.) I am going to be the professor of Musical Studies here at Hogwarts. You may refer to me as Professor, Professor Erik, or Professor Daae. Do not refer to me without using my title unless you would either like to lose house points or spend detention with me.
In this class we shall be going over both music, and musicals. You will be expected to sing as well as act in this class. You will be expected to read and write music as well, so for those of you who think that this will be an easy O, you had better think again. You will be tested on your performance ability. You will be expected to sing in groups as well as on your own.
I will be giving music, and preformance tests in this class. The music test shall test your ability to read music. You will be given different pieces of music and shall be asked to identify what the notes, and clefts that make up the piece that you are given are.
In my preformance tests, you shall be expected to preform a song of my choosing. You will either be given the requirement of singing by yourself, singing with another student, singing in a group, or singing with me if I find you talented enough to handle such a task.
Students of all ages that are taking my class are going to be sorted into one class at first. I will audition you, and if I find that you exceed my expectations then you shall be moved into a more advanced class.
We will be going over very well known muggle musicals. The ones that are in my lesson plans are Fiddler on The Roof, and The Phantom of the Opera, however there are two musicals that I will let my students vote on. You will choose which two other musicals that you would like to learn about, and the most popular two will be discussed in my class.
This class can either be fun or miserable depending on how you make it. I expect you all to treat me, and your fellow students with the upmost respect while in my class. Preforming infront of people is not an easy task, and I will not accept any sort of mockery or taunting in this class.
