It was calm and cold night at Hogwarts, rain was falling down from the heavens coldly soaking any and every one that was foolish enough to be out at that time. Despite this, there were still a few people outside. Some were enjoying the feel of the cold water hitting their skin. Others were out admiring the beauty of the falling rain being reflected by the light of the shining moon.
Yet there was one person, (a young female named Luna Demetriou to be exact) that was doing both of those two things, and a little bit more.
Luna was currently on the Quidditch pitch lying comfortably on one of the seats. Her hair, her skin, and her clothes were all completely soaked through showing that she had been out there for quite a long time. Sharp blue eyes were staring up at the stars and the moon in fascination. Even though it was raining the sky was still clear, and beautiful. The moon was glowing, and the stars were shining brightly which was something that was rare on any normal night, much less when it was raining.
As the rain fell down on the young woman, her eyes began to slowly fall shut with the smallest of smiles coming across her lips. She truly loved the rain. She loved everything about it, however she often did not get the time to fully enjoy it due to her brother's sickly nature. However, tonight had been completely different. Her brother had gone off to bed early and was currently tucked into his bed, sleeping safely up in the Ravenclaw tower.
Not feeling the least bit tired, and still having quite a bit of time before she would be required to go back to the common room for curfew she decided to take her time and go to her favorite thinking place to enjoy the rain and escape from any unwanted company.
That plan was almost immediately foiled when she heard a pair of quiet footsteps walking on the quidditch pitch. She frowned as she felt a pair of eyes land on her form, silently wishing that she had chosen a much less obvious spot, one that would have conceled her better from any prying eyes.
After moments passed without anything changing, an annoyed sigh passed from her form. Closing her eyes, and running her hand through her hair making sure to brush back any loose wet strands that fell into her face she sat up, hand moving down to her pocket and drawing her wand in case the observer happened to be a threat.
"If you're trying to be sneaky, and sneak up on me you've failed miserably."
She spoke in a voice that was almost as cold as the night air, and the rain that was falling down from the clear sky. Her bright blue eyes remained closed for a moment before opening, and giving the person an intense, almost chilling stare.
"You have been staring at me for far too long for me to believe that you have no business with me. So whatever it is that you need from me, tell me and leave."
