Hearing that she had brought it up for him he leaned forward, caught one of her hands and pulled it close turning it palm up. Kissing her in the very center of her palm, he closed her hand around it as he said very seriously "I don't deserve to have someone around as good as you. Thank you so much for watching out for me, Lili-love!" Still leaning forward he got one of the pastries and started in on it as he leaned back before telling her about the problem he had. The curative he looked at, but he wasn't sure yet he should have it.

In a way he deserved it for being so stupid as to attack others. Smashing his fist in the wall and getting it infected was also dumb, but again his own fault. He'd think about it before he took it. "I'm not sure if I should. I kind of deserve what's happened to me, the infection and the detention and all that. I shouldn't have done what I did, but I was so angry at them for hurting you, I just didn't think straight." He looked a bit ashamed, but that was also pure Cern; causing others grief really bothered his conscience.

As he explained his condition, she stood and came around running her hands into his hair which felt so caring he felt his heart skip a beat! "The healer said it was a sunshine thing. Like, we had to go to St Mungo's during the year when we were smaller for sun treatments, like lights they would shine in our faces for a half hour or so. First day of holidays we usually go back there too just to make the holiday easier. I don't know if any herbs would help with it or not, I would think the healer's knew all the tricks for it..."

When she wrapped her arms around him and made promises she would do whatever she could for him he blushed again and kissed her back. Pulling her onto his lap he let her lay her head on his chest as he stroked his hands through that luxurious mane of hers and spoke soft. "Love, you've already done more then I'd ever expected. As long as you can put up with me I'll take every moment of the time you want to give me! Just being with you makes the rest seem so much better. Now I know it's setting in for the season I'll try and remember to stay positive for you, really I will. I just told you to make sure you knew why I'm not on the top of everything. I love you too..."

He made a screwed up face above her head as he thought about it. "I'm sorry I wasn't thinking clearly last night. Maybe if I'd been aware of what was happening in my head I could have saved you all the stress and pain, love, how can I repay you for that most amazing gift you've given me? Name it and it's yours if I can manage it." Last night had been more then special, she had taken him even while sick and managed to expand his world ten times over, granting him something he had never experienced before! Transforming, it was, but he detected that she didn't feel completely good about it yet and that he wanted to fix...

Lili snuggled against his chest happily, smiling as contentedly as ever as she listened to him speak and to the beating of his heart. There was something very relaxing in that moment. Yet another one of many that she wished never had to end. As he spoke, she smiled again. "Maybe you've seen my mom at Saint Mungo's, she's a healer there. You would never miss her, her hair is as blue as the Ravenclaw crest."

"Wait. Light treatments?" She sat up again and grabbed her wand, "I can simulate those. Mom taught me how to for winter Herbology classes. I can simulate the sunlight so that the plants grow better. If you want, I can do it for you."

When he thanked her for the previous night's happenings, her mind seemed to be running images through, reminding her of every touch. "It's alright baby...I was just so worried about you and trying so hard to get you to understand how much I want to be with you and how much I love you." Her insides felt a touch weird still, but the worst was over. "Are you...okay with it? You don't think poorly of me for that...do you?" She almost wanted to ask if it felt good...but opted not to.

He tried to think of if he had seen that hair before and thought he did remember it in the halls. "I think I might have in passing. I remember some blue hair somewhere... So it that like a family thing? Anyone else in your family with odd hair?" There were a few students at Hogwarts with odd hair and one family of them he tried not to think about at that moment and spoil the mood... Her sudden realization about the light made his eyebrows go up. "Really? That's great! Maybe you should write your mom and ask her what changes they do for us..."

Not knowing if there were very different ways to do it or not, he didn't want to screw up what the Healer's were doing. His instinct that she was having issues with what happened last night were apparently dead on as she sounded so uptight about it. "Well I was out of it if I recall so I'm not going to say I was very good at it and it was my first time, but what I remember was fantastic! I seriously doubt there would be any reason I would ever hold that against you love!" Slipping his hand around her face he touched the end of her nose playfully.

Then his face turned more serious, maybe a bit more mischievous as he added softer "However as I said I wasn't exactly with it, so I think we should try again when I'm not depressed and sick, you know, just to establish it well in my mind... I bet I'm much better in a bed too then on a stairway!" He grinned to show he wouldn't be upset if she took it as a joke, but there was quite a bit of serious desire in his eyes still.

How could anyone object to someone who gave of themselves so? And he'd be insane to pass up a chance for a connection like that again! Even now his body reminded him of how much he would like doing it again right now... As he stroked his hands through her hair he leaned forward and took another whiff of her hair and of her. "Merlin! I'm definitely going to be addicted to you..."

Lili looked up at him softly, chin placed gently on his chest."I will write her soon, just to see if there is anything I could do to help. If it's a spell...I will learn it. I will even ask Bella to help me with technique." Well, heck, maybe the girl knew of something. She knew more than most of the seventh year wizards and her knowledge was growing fast. Man, too bad she wasn't that wickedly smart.

Her fingers trailed gently over the curve of his muscles in his chest and she bit her lower lip very slightly before looking up into his face. "Cern, I know it wasn't the best first time in the world...but you know what? It was still special. I can't think of anyone else I could have trusted enough to do that with."

Somewhere in the back of her mind, she could still feel him, still see flashes of his face, and still feel the incredible feeling of being so connected to him. It made her tremble slightly, and she said softly, "It wasn't bad...and though it was a little too soon...I wouldn't change it. I love you and I'm glad it was you. I want to try and make sure that you're as happy as you make me. If it takes me all winter to figure out how to get your heart soaring like one glance from you does to me...then so be it." She smiled softly and ran her fingertips through his hair softly again.

This had to be the feeling her mother mentioned. The feeling when her parents fell in love, where one little look made the world fall away and all that was left was that other person. She finally got it, and she wouldn't trade it for anything.

With his girlfriend sitting in his lap and resting her head on his chest he felt... Well not powerful, though it was akin to it. He would not have been able to say what it was that he felt at that moment, but it was damn heady stuff and he liked it a lot! If she wanted to call it love, well maybe it was. "Have I told you today how wonderful you are? Wait, let me see how I can say it to let you know how I feel." Cern paused a moment and then took on a serious look.

Reaching for said same chin, he slipped a hand along her cheek and said quite seriously "You are without a doubt the best person I have ever known and the fact you care about me makes my heart beat faster! I wasn't sure myself whether this is love or not, but you make my heart skip a beat when you touch my skin, I feel so warm when you say my name like that, and I can't stop thinking about you when you are not around."

Slipping a hand into hers he gave her hair a whiff again, obviously "Not to mention you are almost intoxicating! W-will you let me take you to the Yule Ball, Liliane? I want to show you off to everyone that Cern Summerby has the prettiest Hufflepuff in the dorm in his arms and she has eyes for only him..." His heart beat fast while he awaited her response! This time no magic book had given him the words, he had seized the moment for himself!

As his father had told him, it was quite a rush when you asked a girl out on a very important date...

As he spoke, she might have melted a bit into his arms. A bit...okay, maybe a lot. Her heart thundered against her chest, matching his in tempo. It was a wonder to feel someone's heart beating in time with your own. But, as he asked she felt an excited smile start on her lips and spread through the entirety of her blood and she nodded furiously before the words would even come! "Yes! Yes! I'd love to go with you, baby." She'd get to show off to the whole school that she had the most handsome, the sweetest, and the most graceful man in the whole school!

Ha! Take that!

"Nothing would make me happier than to go with you. I can't wait! I wish I could dance with you now though and we didn't have to wait for that." She was wishful thinking, of course, and the thought of being in his arms was more compelling than anything anyway. Suddenly, she was glad that she learned to dance as a child.

Feeling her heartbeat speed up at the same time and the look of anticipation in her eyes as she sensed something big coming, Cern found himself getting more excited as well! Her enthusiasm for his question had him beaming, happy at her reaction almost more then the actual ball! "Really? Awesome!" It was only then that he realized their hearts were practically beating together. Was that a sign?

Cern had two advantages, one of which she had just been thinking of herself. The first was his long dancing experience with a single partner, his sister. The second, and more important in some ways, was his own martial expertise which gave him a movement not found in other students at school who were male. The grace was unconscious and smooth, connecting from move to move and creating a visual fingerprint that few would have missed.

As she mentioned dancing with him now, he was sliding his hands around her waist, pulling her closer. "Oh? How much dancing have you done before Lili?" Cern didn't really want to get up as he was far too comfortable, but he could imagine swinging her around the common room would be very fun! "Maybe sometime we can practice, get a bit more used to each other's styles?"

"I danced a bit as a child and when I can now. I don't think I'm very good, but mom says I dance beautifully. I can keep a rhythm, and I can follow your lead." Nestled close to him, she placed a gentle kiss the his chest through his shirt. It was true though, all she could do was follow his lead. She was very light on her feet and always took advantage of any reason to show off that grace that was well hidden from the world with her clumsiness.

"I'd love to do that, but for now all I want to do is snuggle up here with you, my love."
